By Car: We strongly recommend arriving by car for convenience and to explore the nearby attractions. NestOff is located in the village of Romhány, approximately 75 km north of Budapest. NestOff is accessible via a gravel road on NestOff can be reached via a gravel road. The last 200 meters are steeper and of slightly poorer quality, but it is easily passable with a regular car. A private parking space is provided on-site.

By Public Transport: While public transport, specifically buses, can get you to the center of Romhány, please note that our location is quite remote. The remaining 20-minute walk needs to be completed on foot, partially on the yellow marked hiking trail, which all the way to the entrance is a good quality gravel road. We are happy to assist you with route planning if needed!

Keys will be provided via the on-site key safe.

Early check-in or late check-out may be possible depending on availability. Please contact us in advance to make arrangements (an additional fee may apply).

We’ve tried to think of everything to make your stay cozy and carefree. Amenities include:

Both the hot tub and sauna are wood burning. Depending on the weather heat up time for the hot tub varies between 2-4 hours, and 1-2 hours for the sauna.

Yes! We warmly welcome well-behaved dogs (and pets) at NestOff. We ask that:
– You bring your dog’s bedding, bowls, and towels.
– Dogs are not left unattended.
– You clean up after your dog in all indoor and outdoor areas.

Note: We charge a small cleaning fee for guests traveling with pets.

No. NestOff is a strictly non-smoking and non-vaping property indoors. This ensures a clean and safe environment for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.

– Free cancellation up to 7 days before check-in.
– 50% refund for cancellations made 3–6 days before check-in.
– No refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of check-in or for no-shows.

We provide most basics, but you might want to bring:

• Slippers or indoor shoes
• Swimsuit for the hot tub or sauna
• Groceries and preferred drinks (nearest shop is a 20min walk / 5min drive away)
• Your favorite book or playlist (there may be limited internet)

A small cleaning fee is included in your booking price. We ask that guests treat the space respectfully and tidy up dishes before departure.

Yes! NestOff is fully insulated and equipped for year-round comfort, with heating, warm bedding, and a cozy fireplace. The sauna and hot tub are especially popular in winter!

NestOff is nestled in the peaceful village of Romhány, offering access to a variety of nearby sights:

– Bánk Lake – swimming, paddleboarding, lakeside bars and cafes (~20 minutes)
– Nógrád Castle ruins – historic site with panoramic views

– Balassagyarmat – cultural town with museums and restaurants (~25 minutes)
– Vác – charming Danube-side town with architecture, markets, and cafés (~45 minutes)

Absolutely! Romhány is a great base for exploring the Cserhát Hills and sections of the National Blue Trail (Kéktúra). We encourage you to use the Természetjáró app and Komoot app to explore local hiking routes!

• Romhány–Nógrád section of the Kéktúra – well-marked and peaceful, passing just 400m from NestOff!
• Loop hiking trail – the yellow marked trail starts right at NestOff, and it is a beautiful loop through the Prónyai lookout tower. The trail connects to Kéktúra trails.
• Cserhát Nature Trails – gentle hills, forest paths, and scenic lookouts
• Pronay lookout tower – a wonderful hike through the forest and hills

Nearby mountains, such as Csóványos for more experienced hikers. Ask us for hiking maps or route suggestions—we’re happy to help!
